Freemen is in the process of unveiling another store at YTL's Wisma Atria, which will add to its two stores at CityLink Mall and Jurong Point.

According to Chris Chong, YTL Starhill Global REIT Management's senior vice president (asset management and investment), fashion and apparel continue to rank highly with shoppers, followed by jewellery, watches and food & beverage. The REIT's portfolio includes Wisma Atria.

'Wisma Atria maintains a high level of shopper traffic throughout the year,' Mr Chong said, adding that the mall has seen an average of 2 million shoppers per month over the past six months. [more...]



National Geographic sets up shop in Lot 10

But the country's “Nat-Geo” lovers now have more to celebrate with the launch of Malaysia’s first National Geographic store at Lot 10 shopping centre in Jalan Bukit Bintang.

The store is the second of its kind in Asia and it was openedofficiated by Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen, accompanied by YTL corporation managing director Tan Sri Dr Francis Yeoh, YTL investments director Ruth Yeoh and National Geographic International licensing vice-president Alison Middleton.

Ruth said the partnership with National Geographic took place last year when YTL collaborated with the National Geographic Channel on the “Climate Change Week” educational programme.

“Today I still read the magazines and watch the programmes — but with a difference. Now, I watch it realising the impact National Geographic, as a world renowned brand, has made on culture, society and humanity.” said Ruth. [more...]
