One Oriental Building - Principle RF Engineer
Job Description
This position requires an experienced, skilled RF Engineer capable of weighing site selection options, making quick, knowledgeable decisions (understanding trade-offs) and then monitoring site/cluster testing through to site/cluster acceptance. Will interface directly with CME teams and RAN vendors during build, BS install, commissioning, testing and acceptance.
Job Requirement
1. Advanced understanding of RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools and antenna theory.
2. Advanced understanding of GSM/UMTS/WIMAX networks and telecommunication systems
3. Experienced/expertise in the use of different RF Planning tools
4. Site Acceptance expertise
5. Conducting site surveys to meet traffic and coverage requirements
6. Perform RF network planning ,design and optimization of network coverage, performance and capacity
7. Dimensioning of the ASN network
8. Perform drive test and optimization
9. Overall – Develop, train and control process for Design, Deployment and Operations; Manage reporting teams
10. Design – Site selection review; Physical site inspection
11. Deployment – manage site install and commissioning activities; report status and issues
12. Test – focus on critical clusters in region; manage/perform site acceptance
13. Operations – manage regional cluster; direct operations staff; report status and issues
Skills Required
1. B.S. Electronic and Communication Engineering or Equivalent
2. 7 years Wireless Cellular experience
3. Minimum of 1 year direct WiMAX working experience
4. Direct experience in wireless deployment, site installation/commissioning
5. Experience in managing technical teams
6. Strong communication, written and oral, skills
7. Planning and organizing work
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist personnel of other departments as a RF SME.
2. Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members.
3. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.
