Job Description
• Technical Interface to Operations, Network and Engineering staff for Service/Device Provisioning
• Provide Sign off recommendation on vendor deliverables
• Report/Test Report Analysis
• Actively Engaged in Vendor Testing
Job Requirement
1. This position requires a person with a strong provisioning and activation background in a wireless operator environment.
2. Will interface directly with vendors/SI to ensure effective provisioning and activation of services and devices
3. This person will need to be able to communicate effectively, be a strong advocate, and work to guide the solution delivered.
4. Work with product development and marketing team to understand service and device roadmap.
5. Plan directly with vendor to ensure appropriate resources/scheduling for testing of services & devices.
6. Provide Sign off recommendation on vendor deliverables
7. Report/Test Report Analysis and sign off
8. Actively test services and devices
After network deployment, this position would require:
9. Long term planning to support device and services roadmap.
10. Develop processes to proactively monitor all service and device changes and their impact on the network.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Skills Required
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics or related field.
2. 10 years direct experience in telecommunications/wireless service and device provisioning systems.
3. Knowledge of device management systems within wireless environment. Prefer knowledge of provisioning in WiMAX network
4. Knowledge of Clarity system preferred.
5. Understanding of RF propagation principles, and cellular theory
6. Understanding of GSM/UMTS/WIMAX networks and telecommunication systems
7. Working knowledge of WiMAX Core Network components (CSN).
8. Excellent problem-solving, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
9. Self-starter with a High level of initiative.
10. Proven ability to work in team and/or 3rd party suppliers to define and deliver solutions.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist personnel of other departments as a Provisioning & Activation SME/Resource.
2. Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members.
3. Provide provisioning/activation orientation to new staff, as needed.
4. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.
