On what is regarded as perhaps "the most exotic train journey in the world," the
route and destinations are designed to give passengers maximum enjoyment and
convenience, and the cuisine and service are of the highest standards. The train offers three types of guest compartment: Presidential Suites, State Compartments and Superior Compartments. All have en-suite shower and toilet facilities while every sleeping carriage has its own steward who is on call 24 hours a day.
For passengers' enjoyment, there are 2 restaurant cars, a bar car, an observation/bar
car and a saloon car. The entire journey, coursing through Malaysia and Thailand, skirts
the main cities of Kuala Lumpur and Butterworth (Penang) and the scenic towns of SuratThani/Phuket, Hua Hin and Kanchanaburi. Beginning or ending in Singapore and
Bangkok, this train adventure lasts three days and two nights.
